Megan Sobecki
Megan Sobecki has been swimming since the age of 8. She dabbled in other sports up until high school where she decided swimming would be her main sport. During her high school career she had several wins, top 10 finishes and attending State. She then received an Athletic Scholarship to swim for a mid-size D1 school, Eastern Illinois University.
As a college graduation present her father bought her a road bike. She wanted to pursue a different sport, Triathlon! She started in the shorter distance races qualifying for Age Group Nationals three times, placing in the Top half of her age group. She then moved to Houston, Texas in 2013 to be a full time swim coach for the pre-national, national, Olympic Trial Team.
In 2017 she then began her journey in the half and full Ironman Distance. Qualifying for Kona in 2019, 2020 and 2021. She is currently pursuing her dream as an elite athlete and racing at the half ironman distance which seems to be her bread and butter. With many Overall wins, and podium finishes she thriving at the half distance. She currently race for NVDM based out of Austin, Texas and resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
